From Murals to Portraits
Inspired by the peculiar characters of cyop&kaf’s murals, their vibrant colors, and the “voids” that often appear in their works, I created a series of portraits that aim to bring those figures out of the walls and transform them into impossible yet flesh-and-blood beings. To achieve this, I borrowed poses, colors, and distinctive elements from their creations, using painted clothing and body parts or, in some cases, deliberately “erasing” them in post-production.
The creatures of cyop&kaf thus become inhabitants of a theater of the absurd, living incarnations of an imaginary world that may seem strange and surreal but ultimately reflects our everyday reality.
